Job Description

New Directions is currently recruiting for a ICT Teacher to work with a Secondary school in the Newport area. This is a full time position, with an immediate start. There is also a strong possibility of the role extending to the end of the academic year. This role would also be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.

You will have a passion for designing information systems, writing computer code, implementing procedures and adhering to information technology best practices. You will be responsible for teaching students about the hardware and software used in modern computer systems. You will also be tasked with helping students develop their digital literacy skills, including how to use a keyboard and mouse effectively, how to navigate a web browser, etc. The right candidate will also provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life in order to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

• A passion for raising student expectations and achievements
• The ability to build strong working relationships with staff and pupils
• The ability to remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role
• Eligible to work in the UK
• In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC
