New Directions are currently looking for a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Primary Teacher to work at a small village school based in Torfaen.
We are committed at recruiting dedicated professionals to join us, therefore we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Teacher, to work in this school starting in September.
The position will be covering two days a week ( Monday and Tuesday ) up until the end of the Autumn Term. The right candidate should :-
Demonstrate excellent practice across the Primary phase offering something exciting to the children.
Maintain and develop the school ethos.
Plan, prepare and deliver the national curriculum in accordance with the schools goals and policies.
Provide an exciting teaching experience, using a variety of teaching and learning styles to keep children engaged.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with professional colleagues and parents.
The appointed teacher will be adaptable and organised; ensuring that on arrival to a school you have resources available in case of emergencies or sickness cover where work has not been set.

Your role as a Key Stage 1 (KS1) Primary Teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.
As a Primary School Key Stage 1 Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
