New Directions Education is working in partnership with a small Academy School in the Wallasey area that is recruiting for an experienced Teacher of Art to work within their Art and Design Department.  This position is to start as soon as possible with ongoing opportunities within the school for the right candidate.

This position will require you to work under your own initiative and a degree of decision making within established working practices.

The appointed teacher will need to be someone who is highly motivated and can inspire and make learning fun, a person with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills who can engage and enthuse children, someone who is able to set and maintain high standards of teaching, learning and behavior.

If you are a Teacher of art, either a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT), or an experienced Teacher of many years, please register with us.

Ideally, you’ll be happy to teach from Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 (KS5).

As an Art and Design Teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Teach all areas of the curriculum or subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for the needs of all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation
• Maintain discipline
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Staying up-to-date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
