New Directions Education are currently seeking Key Subject Teachers for Secondary Schools within the City and County of Swansea. The schools are aiming to create a pool of regular supply teachers in order for students to catch up in Maths, English and Science after Easter. All placements are on a supply basis but we would be able to provide regular or long term work for you if this is of interest to you. Newly Qualified Teachers are encouraged to apply as each session you undertake will count towards your Induction Year. NQT’s will also be assigned an NQT consultant within their local branch to support with the Induction period.
We welcome applicants who:
Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC);
Are able to teach within a Secondary School setting;
Are able to plan and delegate activities for the support staff within the classroom to undertake;
Are able to devise creative and stimulating learning experiences which will engage all pupils;
Would be able to assist with any additional duties within the department such as marking work and report writing.
We are seeking applicants who would be happy with the flexibility of supply placements and comfortable with last minute class changes if they arise. Successful candidates would need to be able to work closely with school staff to ensure the school routine is adhered to as closely as possible. You will be able to select the schools you wish to work in and the amount of days you would like to work. New Directions Education will be able to offer free online training courses to support your career development.

As a Secondary Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
