New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a Primary School in the Newport Area who are looking for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis.
The position will be based within the schools Key Stage Two Learning Resource Base which supports children with varied Addition Learning Needs. The school are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has experience of working with children who are on the Autism Spectrum and with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties. A Team Teach qualification is desirable but this training can be provided if required.
The position is until July 2020 so the successful candidate must be committed to the position due to the nature of the role. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking for long-term work who has a passion of working with children with additional learning needs.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
