Learning Support Assistant, Pupil Referral Unit, Newport

We are currently working with pupil referral units in the Newport area, who are looking for experienced Learning Support Assistants to work on a ad hoc basis which may lead to long-term cover pending on their needs.
Children with behavioural issues who are not currently in mainstream school are based within the PRU’s where the main aim is for the pupils to return to school in the future. The behavioural issues may include limited social skills, low concentration levels and anger issues.
The role will involve the following duties:
Supporting all pupils to ensure they reach their full potential
Building a good rapport with pupils
Be a strong leader
To have a flexible and adaptable approach due to the temperamental environment
This position’s will allow you to work with children who need additional support and help make a real difference. Although these positions can be very challenging it can also be very rewarding to support children during their education journey.

To work in an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) role you will need:
Ideally experience working in an ALN environment or from a care background
An excellent track record
Flexibility and adaptability to work short-term and long-term.
