New Directions Education are recruiting for a Lecturer of Horticulture on behalf of a Powys based college. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and innovative Teacher who is keen to inspire young people to fulfil their full potential.
We are currently looking for cover for the following post on a temporary basis to commence as soon as possible.
This is a temporary position for approximately 15 hours per week
The post holder is required to deliver modules on a range of learning programmes in the area of Horticulture Levels 1, 2 and 3.
The distribution of hours is as follows:
Monday 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Thursday 9.00am – 4.00pm
Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm
Candidates should have a Level 5 qualification and experience in a relevant discipline, have a teaching qualification; a level 2 qualifications in Maths and English and be IT literate equivalent to level 2.
Professionally qualified in the subject area;
Teaching qualification to minimum Level 3 (Teaching Award in Education and Training) or equivalent (or willing to work towards);
An enthusiasm for horticulture and sharing knowledge;
Recent relevant industrial experience;
An excellent working knowledge of the subject area;
Ability to work flexibly and on own initiative to meet the needs of the College;
Ability to maintain relevant records and documentation accurately;
Willingness and ability to undertake further professional development linked to the Department curriculum and College needs;
Ability to achieve high standards working under pressure;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
