New directions have been approached by a Primary School based in the Wirral area, to find a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work within Foundation Stage 2 (FS2). Starting September 2024 and continuing on an ongoing basis, this role will move quickly!

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Encouraging students with their learning
  • Supporting students and engaging them in the lessons and activities
  • Forming strong relationships with students to ensure successful learning
  • Adapting work to explain concepts to students and break learning into bite sizeable chunks
  • Assisting with any other ad hoc duties required

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
