Job Description

New Directions are currently registering Key Stage 2 specialist teachers for schools within the City and County of Swansea. We are seeking teachers who have either recently qualified or have previous teaching experience and would be confident in teaching Lower Junior Classes (Year 3/4). All placements which we have to offer are on a supply basis and would be as and when schools require cover. Some placements may also become available with very short notice and you will be able to select if you require this type of work.

Applicants would need to be:-

  • Registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC);
  • Confident in teaching Year 3 and 4 Classes but would be prepared for last minute class changes if this occurred;
  • Have strong classroom management skills and are able to adapt to a variety of schools;
  • Able to delegate and work closely with any support staff within the classroom;
  • Able to undertake additional tasks such as playground duty as and when required;
  • Available for placements at short notice.

Undertaking supply placements is a great way for you to gain experience in as many schools as you wish when you register with New Directions. The schools we currently work with are looking for caring and nurturing teachers who would be able to support the pupils as they have recently transitioned from the Foundation Department. If your file is made compliant this side of Christmas you will be encouraged within each school to absorb yourself in the preparation of Christmas festivities.  New Directions offers free training courses either online or at a local venue and a tailored Candidate Profile to highlight your individual skills.
