LSA – Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) – Caerphilly County Borough, Caerphilly

We are currently working with a highly respected PRU within the Caerphilly County Borough area who are on the lookout for a new LSA to join their team!
The chosen candidate will cover a new role, work between the hours of 8:30am and 3:30pm Monday to Friday, supporting across the provision where needed.
Children who attend a PRU might be:
Permanently excluded from their mainstream school for behavior reasons, or at risk of permanent exclusion.
experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties, including problems with mental health, or school refusal.
experiencing severe bullying.
diagnosed with special educational needs, or in the process of getting a diagnosis.
suffering from a short- or long-term illness that makes mainstream school unsuitable.
a new starter who missed out on a school place.
pregnant or young mothers.
Though PRU’s can be a challenging environment to work in, it is incredibly rewarding to support pupils who require additional help with their learning.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working in a similar setting, or working with challenging behavior. You will be confident yet nurturing, showing resilience and having a positive outlook.
You must be available and willing to commit to the placement on a full time basis to ensure consistency for the children who attend the school.
