New Directions are currently seeking an experienced Mathematics Teacher to work at a Pupil Referral School in Swansea.
The successful candidate will be required to teach Mathematics at GCSE Level to Secondary aged pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs. The right candidate must have proven experience of working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 children in emotional and behavioural units.
The cover will be for day to day supply as well as long term supply,

Are a Qualified Teacher specialising in the teaching of Mathematics;
Are registered with the Education Workforce Council;
Are able to create and deliver a range of learning experiences suitable for the age group, which meet the objectives of Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 requirements;
Will utilise all aspects of the school from interactive technology in a classroom to outside activities as part of a varied and diverse learning environment;
Are able to work closely with fellow staff members and can confidently liaise with staff, pupils and parents;
Will adhere to New Directions vetting and compliance procedures.

If you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or experienced maths teacher we offer roles which include delivering the curriculum in Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 4 (KS4) with a possible work at Key Stage 5 (KS5).
As a maths teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
