Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting Newly Qualified Primary & Secondary Teachers (NQT) to work in a variety of schools in Shropshire from September 2020.

If you are nearing the end of your studies and will soon have Qualified Teacher Status, please get in touch with our North Wales team to discuss the opportunities available.

Due to the high demand in this area we require flexible, hardworking staff to make a difference and develop positive working relationships with schools in the area. This is an ideal opportunity to work in a variety of settings and will allow you to teach in various year groups to support your professional development and future positions.

Support is provided throughout your NQT induction and you will have the opportunity to attend our free training sessions held during school holiday periods.

Applicants must:

  • Be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) and hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Be able to provide references.Be able to plan and deliver fun, engaging lesson plans that are true to the curriculum.
  • Be passionate about the development of children’s learning and improving standards of education.

As a newly qualified teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
