Job Description

New Directions Education are looking to appoint a number of enthusiastic and passionate Newly Qualified Teachers for a busy primary desk. Candidates who specialise in Early Years, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 will be give the opportunity to work within a number of schools within the Wirral area for either day to day supply or long term bookings. Due to the varied nature of the role, successful candidates will need to be able to adapt to different education settings and work closely with staff teams to provide a high standard of teaching.

Our schools are looking for highly motivated teachers who have a passion for working with children. This is a fantastic opportunity as a newly qualified teacher looking to network in local schools and increase experience. Furthermore, due to the nature of the work it can put successful candidates into an advantageous position when vacancies arise within school.

It is imperative that a friendly and positive approach to teaching is in place, and that all marking is undertaken at the end of each school day with feedback provided. This will ensure that you create the best impression of yourself and increase your chance of regular work.

As a newly qualified teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
