Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting for Newly qualified teachers on behalf of Powys based secondary Schools. We are seeking a enthusiastic, and innovative Teacher who is keen to inspire young people to fulfil their full potential.

As we are the preferred supplier in Wales, we are seeking enthusiastic teachers who are able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment for young people to learn in.

This role is to work a day-to-day supply basis or on a long-term basis which is a great opportunity to gain a permanent contract. Daily supply for you is a great way to get yourself into many different Schools and show your skills and get a feel for different Schools in the area.

Working for New Directions is a great opportunity to be introduced to a range of secondary schools in North Wales and can be a great stepping stone to gain a long-term role.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Be creative, motivational and an effective classroom practitioner.
  • Be able to inspire & motivate students.

We recruit newly qualified teachers (NQTs) for short and long-term teaching vacancies.

As a newly qualified teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
