New Directions Education are currently registering Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) for supply positions starting in September. We will be able to offer you short term placements and put your CV forward for long term placements as and when they become available. When you register with us you will be able to state a preference as to what Key Stage you would like to work in and what geographical areas. All placements you undertake through New Directions will count towards your Induction Year and you will be able to complete lesson observations within schools of your choice. You will also have access to our bespoke NQT Support Programme which includes an industry experienced NQT Consultant, free webinars and tailored advice and guidance.
We welcome applicants who:
Have recently completed a Teacher Training course or are yet to complete their Induction Year to become a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT);
Have experience or are confident in teaching each year group within the primary age range;
Can confidently plan, deliver and assess lessons on longer term assignments;
Are able to work closely with other members of staff and the support staff within the classroom;
Seek the flexibility of supply placements through either part-time or full-time hours;
Undertaking supply placements is a great way for you to gain experience in a variety of schools and to see how different schools operate. You will also be able to observe and develop different styles of classroom management and learning techniques. All the schools we work with have supportive teams and well-resourced departments. If you have any extra curricular skills such as sports coaching or outdoor interests, we will inform the schools for you to have the opportunity to utilise these skills. New Directions Education are also able to offer you free training courses to aid your Career Development and links to online resources.

Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism

Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
