Job Description

New Directions Education has work opportunities available from September 2024, to start your career as a Newly Qualified Teacher.

Supply is a great way for you to start your career, as it gives you the opportunity to gain experience and confidence by working in different school settings. Supply also gives you the opportunity to network and build relationships with head teachers.

The work available can be covering day to day absence, however we are currently working on several long-term placements to start in September.

For NQT’s we do pay to scale, and the current pay rate is £158 per day.

As an agency we can offer support, guidance and feedback, and the end goal is for us to lead you to your permanent role.

Job Specification

We recruit primary teachers for jobs in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2) primary teacher job roles.

As a primary school teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
