Job Description

New Directions Education are recruiting for an Online Teacher to support a high-quality online teaching and learning service based in Wrexham.

The service provides outstanding education to children and young people regardless of their circumstances. The service partners with schools, local authorities and non-mainstream settings to improve outcomes by filling gaps in capacity and curriculum. 

The successful Online Teacher will join a team of qualified teachers delivering live lessons in a safeguarded online classroom, providing a rich and flexible curriculum to Key Stages 1-5 in over 30 subjects. Usually on a 1:3 basis with group-classes having no more than 10 pupils in attendance.

To support with the return to school and to close the ever-increasing gaps in learning, New Directions are expanding its core team of teachers. These lessons are deployed as intervention, enrichment, catch-up or alternative provision to those who need it. This service utilises real teachers delivering real outcomes to students across the UK, they just happen to do it online.

Job Specification

Tutors work on a 1-2-1 basis with students usually within the students’ home, covering a variety of subjects notably core subjects including mathematics, English and science.

Tutor sessions will be bespoke for each student depending on age and levels, and will normally last between 1 and 2 hours.

Tutors can cover all levels from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 however tutors will need to have experience of teaching core subjects such as English, science, and mathematics at the level they will be tutoring.
