Job Description
New Directions are currently recruiting experienced Learning Support Assistants to work in Additional Learning Needs environments.
The roles include supporting pupils with Mild and Severe Learning Difficulties in a mainstream setting. The successful candidate will be required to work with other members of staff to ensure the pupils are fully supported and achieve at their highest level. Your typical day will include supporting pupils on a one to one basis and also small fgroups. However, you will have full support from other members of staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with Additional Learning Needs and Behaviour, however, this is not essential requirement.

Teaching Assistant Qualifications

Duties of a Teaching Assistant
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the Head Teacher, ALNCO and Class Teachers;
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress;
- Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities;
- Assist class teachers with maintaining student records;
- Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
