Job Description

New Directions are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and experienced Physical Education (P.E.) and Dance Teacher to join a good secondary school in Sefton. The successful candidate will inspire and engage students, fostering a love for both physical fitness and the arts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to teach a range of age groups and ability levels, promoting physical education, dance, and well being. This role will start immediately until the end of the academic year.

As a Physical Education and Dance Teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Hold a PGCE and UK QTS
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges.
• Maintain discipline.
• Lesson Planning and overseeing parents evenings
• Be enthusiastic, flexible, creative and ambitious
• Have a passion for teaching secondary P.E and Dance.
• To deliver P.E and Dance to groups of pupils from all abilities across ages 11 – 18 according to their educational needs and levels of ability.
• Actively participate in school events, sports days, and performances.

The Successful Physical Education and Dance Teacher must have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Passionate about promoting physical activity, dance, and healthy lifestyles.
• Proven experience teaching P.E. and Dance at secondary school level.
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum
• Able to provide Referees.
• An up-to-date DBS Check (or be willing to obtain one)
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Ability to teach multiple sports and adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners.
