New Directions is currently recruiting for a PE Teacher to work with a Secondary school in the Caerphilly area. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start. There is also a strong possibility of the role extending to the end of the academic year. This role would also be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.
You will be responsible for helping students develop personally and socially, and help them work as individuals, in groups and in teams, developing concepts of fairness and of personal and social responsibility. You will have experience in taking on different roles and responsibilities, including leadership, coaching and officiating. You will make the activities fun, competitive and cooperative all at the same time, encouraging teamwork and friendships, while still keeping the students active. You will be interested in kinesthetic learning and unlocking the body’s movement potential in conjunction with intellectual challenges. You will also have experience in overseeing practice sessions, instructing students in sports strategy and preparing students to compete against other teams or athletes.

Eligible to work in the UK
In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC
We have regular supply teaching jobs for Physical Education (PE) Teachers available to qualified teachers who can teach Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and possibly Key Stage 5 (KS5).
Newly qualified teachers (NQTs) looking for teaching work in PE should also register with us.
As a PE Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
