New Directions Education are recruiting for School Caretakers, to cover temporary positions in Primary School in Caerphilly. The roles available are long and short-term temporary, covering internal staff absences such as sickness or maternity.
Primary school caretakers will usually be required to work split-shifts, such as 6am – 10am and 3pm – 6pm. School caretaker are also often required to work during school holidays.
School caretakers are responsible for the overall upkeep, maintenance and security of the grounds and premises. Our clients are looking for a capable and reliable caretaker with relevant experience in trades or maintenance and an awareness of health & safety. The successful applicant will need to be self efficient / reliant and work well within a team.
Caretakers are responsible for looking after a school site including the buildings and grounds.
The duties of a school Caretaker include:
Caretakers must be honest, reliable and trustworthy. They must be able to work well on their own using their own initiative, as well as working within a larger team.
Candidates will ideally have previous caretaking experience; however New Directions will consider candidates who have a background in maintenance, decorating, facilities or security.
It’s mandatory that caretakers have a clear DBS either registered with the Update Service or a New Directions DBS.
