We are currently looking for NQTs (Newly Qualified Teachers) to work in some amazing primary schools based on The Wirral. We have something to suit everyone, with long-term and day to day supply available. Supply also allows you to work within a school before fully committing to working there permanently, so you can make sure it’s the right fit for you.

Many of our supply NQTs go on to secure permanent roles within the schools they have done supply in. Furthermore, many of our supply NQTs go on to secure their dream roles in wonderful schools after gaining invaluable experience that they can take into their future teaching careers.

As a New Directions teacher, we ask that you have good curriculum knowledge, can create impromptu lessons, follow lesson plans, are professional towards staff, students and parents, tidy the classroom and complete all marking.

Job Specification

We recruit newly qualified teachers (NQTs) for short and long-term teaching vacancies.

If you are looking for a teaching job in a school, whether you are trying to find a vacancy as a local primary or secondary teacher or eager to work in special educational needs (SEN), then New Directions would like to hear from you.

As a newly qualified teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
