Job Description

Are you a motivated and experienced teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to inspire and educate students? We are currently seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teacher to cover a paternity leave post at a primary school in Ellesmere Port starting in mid-June.

Role Overview:
– Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences to Year 5 students, following the school’s curriculum and policies.
– Plan engaging and differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students in the class.
– Assess student progress, provide feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to support student development.
– Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and learning.

Requirements:
– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a primary school setting.
– Strong knowledge of the Year 5 curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
– A passion for education, a positive attitude, and a commitment to supporting student achievement.

Your role as a Key Stage 2 (KS2) primary teacher in the age group of your speciality will be varied and at times challenging. But we doubt you’ll find a more satisfying career where your main objectives will be to develop the children and prepare them for the next stage.

As a primary school key stage 2 teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
