Job Description

New Directions Education are working with a fantastic primary school in Crewe who are looking to appoint a confident and experienced KS1 or KS2 Teacher to cover a maternity leave.

Location: Crewe
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

The Role:
The school are looking for a strong and capable class teacher with previous experience teaching across KS1 – KS2. You’ll be expected to deliver engaging lessons, follow the school’s planning where appropriate, and provide consistency and support for pupils while their teacher is away.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent and relevant experience in primary education (or upper KS2)
  • Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to quickly integrate into a new setting and hit the ground running
  • A passion for creating a positive and inspiring learning environment

Job Specification

  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
