New Directions is currently recruiting for a RE Teacher to work with a Secondary school in the Caerphilly area. This is a full-time position, with an immediate start. There is also a strong possibility of the role extending to the end of the academic year. This role would also be an excellent opportunity for both Newly Qualified Teacher’s (NQT’s) as well as more experienced teachers.
You will have the requisite to tackle difficult questions and provide pupils with insight that can work to challenge stereotypes, promote cohesion, and tackle extremism. You will promote the important work of RE by encouraging your students to value themselves & the communities within which they live. Learning about religion and learning from religion are important for all pupils, as religious education helps pupils develop an understanding of themselves and others in addition to promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of individuals and of groups and communities. The right candidate will also provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are motivated and encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

In possession of a clear DBS with the update service and registered with the EWC

Teach all areas of your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
