We are currently recruiting for a Religious Education Teacher to join a lovely secondary school based in Liverpool. This role is a fantastic opportunity and is on a long-term, full-time basis with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. The school are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, with the position carrying on through to the new academic year in September. You will be teaching across both Key Stages 3 & 4 (KS3 & KS4), so an ability to adapt your teaching methods to suit different age groups is essential.

This school has an excellent level of commitment to their student’s education and wellbeing. Staff are warm and welcoming to all students, parents, and other staff members alike.

Within this role you will need to be able to deliver lessons in a fun and engaging way, making lesson plans that will capture students’ attention and allow you to showcase your love for teaching. Good classroom management is required and a knowledge of the syllabus, to allow students to reach their maximum potential.

New Directions Education registers supply teaching jobs for RE Teachers to work with Key Stage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and possibly Key Stage 5 (KS5).

We welcome newly qualified teachers (NQTs) and more experienced teachers searching for vacancies in RE and those with passion for the subject.

As an RE Teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Teach all areas of your subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
• Maintain discipline
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
• Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
