New Directions are recruiting for a hardworking and flexible school caretaker, to work on a relief basis in various Wirral schools.
Due to the nature of relief work, this role will involve working in different schools in the area, covering temporary absences such as long or short-term sickness. Although the hours will vary depending on the specific school requirements, primary school caretakers will usually be required to work split-shifts (e.g. 6am – 10am and 3pm – 7pm), so applicants will ideally have access to transport.
Applicants should have previous caretaker experience or a background working in building/maintenance/repairs with transferable skills, and an excellent awareness of health and safety.
Please note, all applicants must hold a Child-Only Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to pay for a new DBS.
New Directions Education registers vacancies in primary and secondary schools, as well as further education and higher education establishments for support staff.
We recruit school secretaries who are typically experienced in SIMS, and fully computer literate. You must be able to deal with confidential information, work on a variety of tasks, and deal with public and staff at all levels.
Candidates who have a background in maintenance, decorating, facilities, or in a trade are of interest to us for caretaker roles. This is a responsible role within the school, often being a key holder where you could be required to work split shifts, as well as responding to security alerts on the school’s premises.
Schools often come to New Directions Education for catering staff to work in the school canteen. Ideally, you’ll have an up-to-date Food Hygiene certificate and also have experience in working in a catering role.
