New Directions are looking to appoint an experienced School Cleaner to work in a primary school in schools across the Wirral.
The working hours are Monday – Friday, 3.00pm – 6.00pm.
School cleaners are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the school premises and maintaining high and consistent standards throughout. There may also be some requirement to work during half terms to complete a deep clean within the school whilst empty, which includes using high level tools.
It is essential all applicants can demonstrate a background in commercial cleaning and an excellent knowledge of health and safety. Applicants must also be able to provide up to date COSHH training certificates or be willing to undertake training.
Further duties include:
-Measuring cleaning supplies
-Reporting stock levels to line manage
-Working as a team with other cleaning staff
-Liaising with maintenance manager to ensure smooth operation
Please note, all applicants must hold a Child-Only Enhanced DBS Certificate
Caretakers will be responsible for looking after the school site including the buildings and grounds.
The duties of a school caretaker include: general maintenance and minor repairs, liaising with contractors, managing heating and alarm systems, security opening and closing the school, basic cleaning, and key holding.
Caretakers must be honest, reliable and trustworthy. They must be able to work well on their own using their own initiative, as well as working well within a larger team.
Candidates will ideally have previous caretaking experience; however New Directions will consider candidates who have a background in maintenance, decorating, facilities or security. It is mandatory that caretakers have a clear DBS either registered with the Update Service or a New Directions DBS.
