We have a vacancy for a Finance Administrator to join the administrative team at a school in the Caerphilly area.
The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for processing all day-to-day financial transactions including purchasing, payments and receivables, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
You will have a proven ability to work accurately and with a high level of attention to detail, be comfortable with figures, experience of working in an accounting type function, with great organisational skills and the capability to prioritise your own workload. You will be comfortable working in a busy office environment and will have a high level of IT skill (Microsoft Word, Excel and databases in particular).
You will be working with a wide variety of internal stakeholders, so you will need to have the ability to interact with staff at all levels and evidence of excellent verbal and written communication skills. You will act as first contact for general finance queries.
To be considered for the role you will be educated to A-level standard with some previous experience of, and an aptitude for, finance work. Ideally you will have experience of using SIMS and OLAS.
A school secretary has the responsibility to provide administrative support to the whole school.
The duties of a school secretary: receptionist duties including answering the phone and welcoming visitors, administrative duties including typing letters, sorting post, managing emails, dealing with school meals administration, ordering stationery, paying invoices, handling monies, printing and photocopying and managing schools systems like SIMS
School secretaries must be well organised as well as having excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must also be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise tasks.
Candidates will ideally have previous experience working within a school office. It is extremely advantageous having working knowledge of SIMS system. Schools will expect all school secretaries to have a good standard of education, previous office work and experience working with children to some extent.
