We are currently recruiting for a brilliant, intelligent, and inspirational scientist who cares deeply about research and pushing boundaries with your experiments, to teach within a secondary school in Knowsley.

This is the perfect role for someone that loves igniting new-found passions within students and use both the classroom and outdoors to explain theories and concepts. You should also have a passion for science and challenging the unknown, encouraging your students to be equally as inquisitive.

This opportunity will allow you to showcase your skills and love for the subject. We are looking for an inspirational, science teacher who can inject love into the subject they’re passionate about and who are concerned about the lack of graduates going onto study biology, chemistry, or physics at degree level.

Job Specification

If your specialism is teaching biology, physics or chemistry and you’re looking for work in a school, we may have jobs to interest you, particularly if you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or looking for supply teaching work.

As a Science Teacher you’ll be expected to:

• Teach all areas of your subject specialism
• Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
• Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
• Maintain discipline
• Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
• Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
• Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
• Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
