New Directions Education are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to work on a supply basis supporting Wrexham Secondary schools.
Applicants with previous laboratory experience are urged to apply with school based experience being advantageous.
The hours will usually be full time. The hours will vary with each schools individual requirements.
For this role New Directions Education will normally offer long-term temporary positions to cover sickness or maternity, with the possibility of these positions becoming permanent if the school require.
New Directions Education recruits Science Technicians to assist the biology, physics and chemistry departments within schools across the UK.
You will normally work within a team of Technicians helping carry out the following tasks:
Setting up laboratories with the necessary equipment for the lesson ahead
Checking and testing scientific equipment
Helping the teacher with practical demonstrations
Interacting with pupils
Keeping a track on chemicals and solutions
Organising apparatus used and making sure it is stored correctly
Observing strict Health & Safety conditions.
Candidates would ideally have a background in a school environment and have a qualification in biology, physics or chemistry to a degree (or equivalent) level.
