Job Description

New Directions are seeking a qualified Science teacher who is able to carry out 1-1 tuition up to GCSE level, and also has pastoral care experience within education. The successful applicant will become part of the Engagement, Wellbeing and Attainment team, working with pupils in Cardiff. The pupils will be based at home or in Learning Centres and are not regular school attenders. This is a hybrid role, predominantly supportive, but there will also be some teaching and guidance involved when necessary.

This role is 3 days per week, but may increase in hours/days. However, New Directions can also offer a full-time role with supply work in schools on free days.

New Directions are seeking tutors to support EOTAS (education other than at school) pupils who are not currently attending mainstream education. Ideal candidates would need to be PGCE or PCET qualified, and able to teach up to GCSE level Science or core subjects.

Some pupils may have Additional Learning Needs (ALN), so experience in supporting with Autism, and emotional, behavioural and social difficulties is imperative for this role.

Furthermore, access to transport is essential for the position, as travelling to pupils homes, and relevant learning centres would be required.

If you are interested in registering with New Directions, should roles become available for one-to-one tuition, and have the experience and drive to take on such a role, please get in touch.

New Directions Education Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
