New Directions Education are currently recruiting a qualified History teacher on behalf of a Comprehensive School based in Torfaen. This is a long term full time position, due to start in September 2019. There is also a strong possibility of the role developing into a permanent position for the right candidate.

The Humanities department are currently seeking a highly skilled History teacher to provide an innovative & effective learning experience. The ideal candidate must:
Have a genuine passion for History;
Be EWC registered;
Be able to teach Key Stage 3 (KS3) & Key Stage 4 (KS4) and ideally have experience at Key Stage (KS5);
Have a clear DBS;

As a History Teacher you’ll be expected to:
Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
