New Directions Education are recruiting for an experienced School Caretaker, to cover a temporary positions in secondary schools in the Cardiff area. The roles available are short-term and long-term temporary, covering internal staff absences such as sickness or maternity.
The working hours can vary depending on each schools’ specific requirements. Secondary school caretakers will usually be required to work 8 hours per day, such as (8am – 4pm or 10am – 6pm). School caretakers are also often required to work during school holidays.
Our clients are looking for a capable and reliable caretaker with relevant experience in trades or maintenance and an awareness of health & safety. The successful applicant will need to be self efficient / reliant and work well within a team.
Caretakers are responsible for looking after a school site including the buildings and grounds.
The duties of a school Caretaker include:
Caretakers must be honest, reliable and trustworthy. They must be able to work well on their own using their own initiative, as well as working within a larger team.
Candidates will ideally have previous caretaking experience; however New Directions will consider candidates who have a background in maintenance, decorating, facilities or security.
It’s mandatory that caretakers have a clear DBS either registered with the Update Service or a New Directions DBS.
