New Directions are on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join our Alternative Provision supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, in a a school based in Liverpool starting in September. This is a rewarding opportunity to teach in a hands-on, practical subject area while making a real difference to young people who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.
Working with small groups in a well-resourced setting, you’ll deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons with a focus on Construction that help pupils build confidence, develop key skills, and achieve meaningful outcomes. You will be supported by a specialist team committed to trauma-informed and relational practice.
Responsibilities of the role included but are not limited to:
Have excellent communication skills.
Support pupils with personal care needs, including feeding, changing and toileting.
Have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs, or in alternative provision, PRUs, or specialist settings.
Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children development.
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or be an experienced unqualified teacher/instructor with relevant D&T and Construction expertise).
