New Directions are currently recruiting for a SEND Keyworker for a lovely primary school in Sale. This is a 1:1 support role commencing in September, long-term with the potential to go over onto a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The School:
Mainstream primary school based in Sale, Trafford
Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ with Outstanding features, the school is recognised for its inclusive nature and excellent behaviour throughout all key stages
Well staffed and resourced, the school caters for the needs of each of its pupils irrespective of their starting point
The Role:
Full-time 1:1 support role working with a KS1 pupil with SEND & Medical Needs
Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools like PECs, Makaton, or communication boards to support speech and language needs
Support sensory regulation needs, including guiding pupils through sensory circuits, using sensory rooms, or implementing sensory breaks as advised by OT specialists.
The Candidate:
Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
Experience working with SEND children in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
