New Directions are looking for a flexible, reliable SIMS School Administrator for both Primary and Secondary schools within Blackwood.
As the post is to cover administrative staff on a supply basis, the position will be either short or long-term temporary with the potential of a permanent role ifthe school requires.
Previous experience working within a school office in either a Primary or Secondary school is required. It is essentialthat the successful candidate has a thorough knowledge of the School Information Management System (SIMS).
We recruit a wide variety of School Office Staff roles, including school secretaries, receptionists, administrators, and school clerks.
Duties are varied and may include the following:
Receptionist duties such as answering the phone and welcoming visitors
Administrative duties such as typing letters, sorting post, managing emails
Dealing with school meals administration, ordering stationery, paying invoices, handling monies, printing and photocopying and managing schools systems like SIMS
School Office Staff must be well organised as well as having excellent verbal and written communication skills. They must also be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritise tasks.
Candidates will ideally have previous experience working within a school office. Working knowledge of SIMS system is advantageous.
Schools will expect all school support staff to have a good standard of education, some previous office work experience and ideally previous experience working within an educational setting.
In order to

Hold a ‘Child Only’ Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service. If you do not hold this kind of DBS then you must be prepared to apply for one at the cost of £44
Complete an accredited Child Safeguarding Level 1 course online, we will provide this during your registration
Provide reference details for any work you have carried out in the last 3 years, gaps will need to be covered by a character reference.
