New Directions Education is looking to appoint a Teacher of Economics and Business Studies for a High School in the Wirral area.

This is an exciting post within a lively and highly successful department. In terms of academic achievement, the department has very high expectations of learners.  Examination results over a considerable number of years show consistent, significant attainment and value added scores

The department is well-organised and well-resourced, as well as having a wide array of up to date teaching materials that enhance teaching and learning.

Job Specification

New Directions Education recruits for Business Studies and Business Economics Teachers to work regularly in schools throughout the UK. If you hold qualified teacher status (QTS) and you are passionate about delivering business studies to KS4 and possibly KS5, we would love to hear from you.

As a Business Studies Teacher you’ll be expected to:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
  • Motivate students with enthusiastic and imaginative presentation
  • Maintain discipline
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of students’ development
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
  • Stay up-to-date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
  • Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
