Part-Time, Teaching Assistant – Year 5 – Wirral (Mornings Only)

A supportive primary school on the Wirral is looking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 5 class, starting as soon as possible on an ongoing basis.

Location: Wirral
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing, long-term supply
Hours: Monday to Friday – Mornings only
Year Group: Year 5
Role Type: General classroom support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher with learning activities and routines
  • Working with groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
  • Assisting with classroom management and preparation of resources
  • Helping to maintain a positive, engaging learning environment
  • Encouraging pupils to stay on task and supporting behaviour when needed

Requirements:

  • Experience in a KS2 classroom preferred
  • A proactive, friendly and dependable attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Specification

Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.

We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;

  • NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
  • CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
  • BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).

We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
