Team Teach – Teaching Assistant North Manchester Full-Time ASAP £425-£450 Weekly Pay (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)
New Directions Education is proud to be supporting a specialist secondary school that caters for learners with SEMH & Complex Needs. With a focus on teaching learning, this specialist school is proud to offer an array of different pathways for its students. The ideal Team Teach trained Teaching Assistant will have experience working with secondary aged students with additional needs. Strong behaviour management and an ability to support teaching and learning are essential attributes for the Teaching Assistant. In order to apply for this longer-term, full-time (8.30-3.30 x 5 days a week) the ideal Teaching Assistant must be Team teach trained (or willing to attend free training through New Directions).
Responsibilities of the role included but are not limited to:
Have excellent communication skills.
Be able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
To support teaching and learning in the classroom.
Be encouraging and supportive.
Have a positive attitude towards teaching and aiding children’s development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of the student.
Job Specification:
Supervise and provide learning support for students in small groups and on a one to one basis.
Support teaching and learning – at GCSE and Functional Skills level;
Assist with the development of individual education and behavioural plans setting challenging expectations for pupils to achieve learning goals.
Establish trusting relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs and personalities.
Encourage pupils to interact with the class and engage in activities.
Person Specification
Have experience working in the care, youth work, coaching or education sector
Have a strong understanding of SEND – specifically SEMH
Experience of de-escualting challenging behaviour
Be outgoing, fun and engaging
Willing to support children of all abilities and needs
Have experience of behaviour management and deescalation
Have a positive and ambitious attitude to learning
Be Team teach trained (or willing to attend free training through New Directions)
