Job Description

New Directions Education are seeking to recruit Welsh Speaking Newly Qualified Teachers to work within schools situated throughout the Wrexham area, on a supply basis.

As the preferred supplier within the Wrexham area, we would be able to provide a wide variety of placements in both Primary and Secondary Welsh Medium schools.

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible NQT’s who would be able to provide pupils with learning experiences of a high standard.

You must be able to provide lessons that meet the curriculum requirements.

This post gives candidates the opportunity to develop their connections to a number of Primary and Secondary schools.

From time to time you may be required to teach challenging classes, therefore good classroom management skills and behaviour strategies are essential to enhance pupil’s abilities daily.

Subject and key stage specialist will be considered.

NQT Job Role

Typical duties of an NQT include:

  • Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism;
  • Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment;
  • Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges;
  • Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation;
  • Maintain discipline;
  • Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development;
  • Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area;
  • Staying up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum;
  • Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening;
  • Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
