Job Description

New Directions Education are currently seeking qualified Primary Teachers for Year 6 classes throughout Swansea primary schools. The positions will be on a supply basis and available to you as soon as your file becomes compliant. Positions are available on a short term day to day basis or longer term periods. The main body of work will be after the February half term but schools are looking for consistency with staff members throughout the Easter term.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC);
  • Have specialised within Key Stage 2 or have relevant experience with this age range;
  • Can confidently plan and delegate a daily routine for the Learning Support Assistant within the classroom;
  • Are either Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT’s) or experienced classroom practitioners.

The schools are seeking teachers who would be confident in managing Year 6 classes for the term before they advance to comprehensive school. You would need to liaise closely with other class teachers to ensure that pupils complete the schemes of work required within this term in preparation for final reports. During your registration appointment you will be able to select which schools you wish to work in and the hours you require. We will also be able to offer you free training courses to support your career development.
