New Directions Education are currently recruiting for a Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor to work in various Secondary Schools throughout Swansea and surrounding areas. The position will be working as general cover throughout the schools, covering day to day absences and courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a cover supervisor you will be expected to supervise pupils whilst they carry out work that has been pre-prepared by a teacher, manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work, deal with any immediate problems & be familiar with the school\u2019s policies and procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must have a proven track record of managing or leading that can be transferred into a classroom environment, specifically, your experience must include leading groups, this could be groups of children, youth work or adults & managing a team. You must be able to speak Welsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working within a Welsh medium school is not only rewarding but essential in keeping the Welsh language prominent within our society.<\/p>\n

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker? Do you have experience working with children or managing\/supervising a group of people? Would you like to transfer those skills into an education setting?<\/p>\n

You will need to have the confidence to stand in front of a secondary classroom to maintain classroom behaviour, and ensure the pupils stay on task following the work set by the class teacher. There is no teaching involved with this position, the main responsibility of this role is the management of the classroom. Therefore, experience working with children or supervising groups of people along with good communication skills is essential.<\/p>\n

There are various day-to-day, part time and full time roles available, with an immediate start.<\/p>\n

Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a very rewarding but very demanding role. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to Teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks.<\/p>\n
