You will play a vital role in providing consistent support, building trusting relationships, and creating a safe and nurturing learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support pupils in managing their emotions, behaviour, and engagement with learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust and confidence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist in implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage positive social interactions and emotional wellbeing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and other professionals to support pupil progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress and wellbeing where required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or within education, youth work, care, or support settings is desirable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting pupils.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work, psychology, health and social care, or related fields are advantageous but not essential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs and are looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Apply today with New Directions Education and help transform the lives of young people across Bradford.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New Directions Education is seeking resilient, compassionate, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work on a full-time supply basis in specialist schools and alternative provisions across Bradford.
