New Directions Education are currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentors to work in primary schools across Chester and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with behavioural, social, and emotional needs and helping them to engage positively with school life and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The schools we work with are welcoming and inclusive, with strong pastoral systems and a commitment to supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to children who require additional behavioural support in the classroom and around school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the nature of these opportunities, candidates must be able to commit to working 3 or more days per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Supporting pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs
\u2022 Building positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence, and learning
\u2022 Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils who require additional behavioural guidance
\u2022 Implementing behaviour support plans and strategies in line with school policies
\u2022 Supporting pupils to develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive coping strategies
\u2022 Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support
\u2022 Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
\u2022 Monitoring and recording pupil progress where required<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs (school, youth work, sports coaching, residential, or similar backgrounds welcome)
\u2022 A calm, patient, and resilient approach
\u2022 Strong behaviour management and communication skills
\u2022 The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
\u2022 A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
\u2022 A genuine passion for supporting children\u2019s wellbeing and development
\u2022 A full driving licence and access to transport (beneficial)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
