Job Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are currently looking for a compassionate and dependable SEND Teaching Assistant<\/strong> to support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), complex needs and additional learning needs<\/strong> within a specialist setting in Aston.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone with relevant experience who wants to help children and young people develop their learning, communication, independence and wider life skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The school is looking for someone who understands that progress is individual to every pupil and who can provide patient, consistent and encouraging support throughout the school day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the right person, the placement could also provide a pathway towards permanent employment directly with the school following a successful placement and the required transfer period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities \u2013 Teaching & Learning Support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support pupils with SLD and complex additional needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Assist with communication and interaction<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support sensory and structured learning activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Follow individual education and support plans<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Encourage independence and development of life skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support pupils with routines and transitions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Assist with personal care where required<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Promote pupil dignity, wellbeing and independence<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Work closely with teachers and specialist professionals<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Monitor pupil engagement and progress<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Maintain a calm and supportive learning environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Person Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Previous relevant experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional, complex or care needs is essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)<\/li>\n\n\n\n

        Qualifications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        No formal Teaching Assistant qualification required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
