Job Purpose<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are currently looking for an experienced and engaging Learning & Behaviour Mentor<\/strong> to deliver targeted interventions, pastoral support and 1:1 mentoring<\/strong> to secondary-aged pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is not simply a classroom behaviour-management role. You will work directly with young people who may be experiencing barriers relating to engagement, behaviour, confidence, attendance, emotional wellbeing or additional needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You will build consistent professional relationships with identified pupils, delivering structured interventions and providing the pastoral support they need to achieve more positive outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates with experience in education, care, youth work, social work, support work and other roles supporting children or individuals with additional needs can bring highly transferable skills to this position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a successful placement, there may also be the opportunity to apply for a permanent position directly with the school following the required transfer period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Responsibilities \u2013 Pastoral & Intervention Support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 interventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Deliver small-group intervention programmes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Provide regular pastoral support<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Hold structured individual mentoring sessions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Identify and support barriers to learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Help pupils develop emotional regulation strategies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support confidence, resilience and positive decision-making<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Encourage improved engagement with lessons<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support pupils following incidents or periods of disengagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Help pupils successfully reintegrate into lessons<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Monitor progress against agreed intervention targets<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Maintain accurate intervention records<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Liaise with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Support improved attendance, punctuality and engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Maintain clear and appropriate professional boundaries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Previous relevant experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs is essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
