You will play an important role in supporting pupils with <strong>wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, engagement and barriers to learning<\/strong>, while helping to ensure they receive consistent support throughout their school day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working closely with the Resource Base Lead, SENCO, teaching and pastoral teams, you will deliver targeted interventions, provide 1:1 support and build positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the right candidate, this role offers genuine long-term potential. Following a successful placement, there may be an opportunity to apply for a permanent position directly with the school, subject to the school&#8217;s recruitment process and the required transfer period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities \u2013 Pastoral &amp; SEND Support<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead day-to-day pastoral support for pupils within the SEND resource base<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide consistent pastoral support for identified pupils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support pupils with behaviour, emotional regulation, attendance and engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify barriers to learning and help put appropriate support strategies in place<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build positive and professional relationships with pupils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support pupils following incidents or periods of dysregulation and help them successfully return to learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate intervention and pastoral records<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote positive attendance, punctuality, behaviour and engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liaise with parents and carers regarding pupil support and progress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work closely with the Resource Base Lead, SENCO, teachers and wider pastoral team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to individual pupil support plans, reviews and interventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liaise with external professionals and agencies where appropriate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and a positive culture within the resource base<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help provide consistency and guidance to staff supporting identified pupils<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to the continued development of pastoral provision within the resource base<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Person Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Previous relevant experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs is essential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Relevant experience can include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pastoral support or pastoral leadership<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learning or behaviour mentoring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SEND support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teaching Assistant work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resource Base support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Care work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Youth work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Family support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children&#8217;s social care<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Residential care or support<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternative provision<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other relevant roles supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants should also have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience delivering 1:1 support or targeted interventions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong understanding of pastoral support and barriers to learning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confidence supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong relationship-building and communication skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work positively with parents and carers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calm, consistent and solution-focused approach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to maintain clear professional boundaries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good organisational and record-keeping skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work effectively with teaching, pastoral and SEND professionals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two satisfactory professional references<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3
