We are currently seeking a confident, enthusiastic and dedicated Welsh-Speaking Cover Supervisor<\/strong> to work within a range of secondary schools across the Powys area. This is an excellent opportunity for a fluent Welsh speaker who is passionate about education and enjoys supporting students’ learning, maintaining a positive classroom environment and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working on a supply basis, you will have the opportunity to supervise classes across a variety of subjects, delivering pre-prepared lesson materials, managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain engaged and on task. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and school leadership teams to maintain high standards of behaviour, promote positive learning experiences and encourage the use of the Welsh language within the school environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We welcome applications from experienced Cover Supervisors, Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistants and candidates with relevant transferable skills who have a strong command of the Welsh language and excellent communication skills. Confidence, adaptability, effective classroom management and a proactive approach are essential for this role. Previous experience working within a school setting is desirable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working within a Welsh medium school is not only rewarding but essential in keeping the Welsh language prominent within our society.<\/p>\n

Are you a fluent Welsh speaker? Do you have experience working with children or managing\/supervising a group of people? Would you like to transfer those skills into an education setting?<\/p>\n

You will need to have the confidence to stand in front of a secondary classroom to maintain classroom behaviour, and ensure the pupils stay on task following the work set by the class teacher. There is no teaching involved with this position, the main responsibility of this role is the management of the classroom. Therefore, experience working with children or supervising groups of people along with good communication skills is essential.<\/p>\n

There are various day-to-day, part time and full time roles available, with an immediate start.<\/p>\n

Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a very rewarding but very demanding role. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to Teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks.<\/p>\n
