{"id":99741,"date":"2019-12-05T09:04:45","date_gmt":"2019-12-05T09:04:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.new-directions.co.uk\/education\/?post_type=job_specifications&#038;p=99741"},"modified":"2025-03-06T11:37:39","modified_gmt":"2025-03-06T11:37:39","slug":"data-ict-manager","status":"publish","type":"job_specifications","link":"https:\/\/www.new-directions.co.uk\/education\/job-specification\/data-ict-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Data\/ICT Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Data\/ICT Manager will be expected to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage the organisational and process aspects of data handling, reporting and analysis of pupil data<\/li>\n<li>Further develop SIMS and offer related IT training to staff, including follow up support<\/li>\n<li>Maintain the school\u2019s website and email system<\/li>\n<li>Identify, manage and support the development of new ICT systems, networks, equipment and applications to ensure the curricular and management needs of the school will continue to be met<\/li>\n<li>Maintain technical efficiency of ICT hardware, software and networks<\/li>\n<li>Report to, advise and contribute to the School\u2019s e-Safety Committee and ICT Planning Group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Role and Responsibilities of a Data\/ICT Manager<\/h2>\n<p><strong><u>Organisation and Administration<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure that data handling, reporting and analysis of pupil data identifies pupil performance and supports the cycle of school improvement, providing data and reports as requested<\/li>\n<li>Deliver relevant SIMS and related IT training to staff and provide follow up support<\/li>\n<li>To assist with the production of a structured analysis of examination data to be available to key staff on their return to school in early September<\/li>\n<li>To construct assessment templates in SIMS Assessment Manager to collect data required by the school and manage these throughout the year<\/li>\n<li>To develop, administer and manage the school incident reporting procedures, including designing report templates, ensuring data entry is complete, production of reports and supplementary documentation for Governors and SLT<\/li>\n<li>To be aware of the SIMS update system including importing\/entry of data (ie. CAT, FFT, end of key stage data and NLF tests [new])<\/li>\n<li>Provision of technical support for curriculum systems and advice on the application of ICT to learning<\/li>\n<li>Develop and maintain a rolling replacement\/development ICT plan for approval by SLT<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all inventories of software and equipment are maintained<\/li>\n<li>Manage active network components including switches and routers; install additional servers, keep the network operating system up to date and oversee the maintenance of network workstations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>\u00a0<\/u><strong><u>Support for the School<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comply with and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person<\/li>\n<li>Implement and manage security measures for individual workstations, servers and networks<\/li>\n<li>Log, follow up and implement prompt and efficient solutions to problems identified<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate the maintenance, updating, installation and replacement of equipment and software<\/li>\n<li>Lead on the coordination and management of the technical aspects of a school virtual learning environment<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the overall ethos\/work\/aims of the school<\/li>\n<li>Develop constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies\/professionals<\/li>\n<li>Share expertise and skills with others<\/li>\n<li>Participate in training and other learning activities and performance development as required<\/li>\n<li>Recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience Required<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A proven track-record working in office\/school environment at a senior level<\/li>\n<li>Experience of working within a school environment<\/li>\n<li>Detailed knowledge of Windows 7 and 10\u00a0 and iOS operating systems<\/li>\n<li>Detailed knowledge of the Windows Server environment, standard business connectivity solutions, remote management systems and network problem solving<\/li>\n<li>NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline<\/li>\n<li>Excellent numeracy\/literacy skills<\/li>\n<li>Effective use of SIMS and other specialist ICT packages<\/li>\n<li>Use of specialist equipment\/resources<\/li>\n<li>Full working knowledge of relevant polices\/codes of practice\/legislation<\/li>\n<li>Ability to train and motivate other staff<\/li>\n<li>Ability to plan and develop systems<\/li>\n<li>Ability to relate well to children and adults<\/li>\n<li>Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these<\/li>\n<li>Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":339,"template":"","class_list":["post-99741","job_specifications","type-job_specifications","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
